Buttertarts N More Minor Midget
The Buttertarts N More Minor Midget team has just finished the regular season with what many close to the team would say is a very respectable 3-15-2 record. This is an accomplishment for a team made up of primarily 15 year olds along with two 16 year olds in a division with teams made up of many 17 year olds and a few 16 year olds. On top of the 3 wins, there were many games that we carried a lead or a tie into the 3rd period and just ran out of gas against the bigger and stronger players and wound up on the losing side of the scoreboard.
We were able to obtain a Minor Midget exemption for the 2011-2012 season as the association only registered one major aged Midget player, born in 1994. This player had already signed with the Port Perry Midgets as a non-resident player so there were no players without a spot to play.
As we gear up for playoffs, we know we will have to play hard and smart to be successful against teams from BB and B centres. Our first round competitor is Port Hope and, as of this writing, the schedule has yet to be determined. Check www.mariposaminorhockey.com for the latest playoff schedule. Our home games are Monday night at 8:30 in Little Britain.
